Please clarify: You are asking if a urine sample taken before you drank alcohol would pick up the alcohol you would drink later?  That makes no sense.

ETG Tests Alcohol: Some people claim that with this test it can be up to five to seven days. But, blood testing is even longer and hair testing is permanent until the hair is cut.  Drug monitoring tests are getting more efficient and successful in catching those using substances.

Genetics: We all have differences from each other due to genetics, including gender and nutrition. The rates at which various chemicals, including alcohol, are metabolized, vary among people and explains how long after the last drink etg may be detectable.
Alcohol is a poison and you should abstain.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

No: Etg is ethyl glocuronide. Grain alcohol is methyl alcohol. Please note that you should not be using methyl alcohol without proper protections as it has serious toxic effects.

Don't know of a list: but phenoxyethanol would not be on it in any case. Ethanol is NOT absorbed through intact skin, and in this product, the ethanol is complexed with a benzene ring that does not allow it to become free. Only alcohol containing mouthwashes that are swallowed, and skin sanitizers that are inhaled can cause positive ETGs. If a sensible cut-off (250-500 ng/ml) is used, this eliminates most of them.

False positive ETG: Ethyl gluglucuronide (etg) is a breakdown product of ethyl alcohol.  It is a good test used to confirm sobriety because it is present in urine much longer than ethanol.

Although it is most sensitive for ethyl alcohol, the test can produce a positive result if sufficient amount of other alcohols are consumed/absorbed which are also broken down by the body into ethanol and then into etg.

i had an etg test positive 2517 ng/ml and hadn't had a sip of alcohol. how can this be possible? please list as many reasons as you can think. my research say this is such an astronomical number but i do not know much about this?

: Unexpected high levels of ETG are possible with "electronic cigarette use, heavy use of hand sanitizer, or consuming certain foods/beverages", so check with your physician to see what may be elevating the ETG level, since you have not consumed alcohol.

: Alcohol free beer does have some alcohol. Alcohol-free beer = no more than 0.05% ABV. De-alcoholised beer = no more than 0.5% ABV.
ETG test may be positive, depending in the sensitivity of the test. It can be positive from using alcohol hand sanitizers. So depeinding on the cut off limit 2-3 beers may produce a positive result.
