Aging Breast Implant: Breast implants also age.   That is why at some point in the future a woman should plan that the breast implants will have to be exchanged.  They can rupture requiring replacement or need to be exchanged and a lift added as the breasts sag.  Most women can go at least 10 years before needing a replacement.   However, some women can go 20-30 years without any issues.

Breast Augmentation: Breast augmentation is a generally safe, effective, outpatient procedure performed under moderate sedation or general anesthesia. Age only plays a role in so far as it affects your ability to safely undergo the associated anesthesia and may have more problems healing.

Yes!: X-rays are definitely safe for breast implants.  Mris and cts are used frequently with difficulty.  The only thing that can be an issue is a tissue expander (metal port) when a MRI is necessary.  I would be careful with compression views as this can move the implant and disrupt planes created only one week after surgery.

Good question : It all depends on expectations.  I have had patients regret staying in the same cup size.  You may want to consider c cup.

Don't worry about it: First of all, like a woman's age, there's no law that you have to tell the whole truth.  And in an intimate situation, a considerate man is not scrutinizing the details of a woman's body, looking for imperfections. Relax and be yourself!

Yes,but why ?: A chest x-ray can be obtained at any time as needed and will be interpreted based on the history of the patient. If you have implants they will change the x-ray picture & the doctor will see the implants & take them into account during interpretation.They obscure less when looking at a side view x-ray.

It is uncommon: Developing disease from breast implants is uncommon. You have not described your symptoms so it is difficult to provide accurate advice. However, it is best for you to seek the advice of a board certified plastic surgeon for further guidance as well as go a history and physical by your primary care provider with basic lab testing. Perhaps the implant is infected or you have developed contracture.

Breast implants: Saline implants can be punctured so the leak and allow the skin and soft tissues to shrink around them prior to removal.  If there is adequate skin and soft tissue with excessive ptosis then a lift can be avoided. Please see a board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation.
