what is the difference between a ct urography and an abdominal ct with contrast?

Technique: Routine CT with contrast is usu. done with images taken with about a 90 sec delay after contrast is given IV.  Images are viewed as cross sections and often sagittal (side views). Some places include coronal (frontal) too.
CT urography also includes a set of 12-15 minute delayed images which are then reformatted in 3D. See picture. Both techniques often also employ non-contrast imaging as well.

Stomach problems: Abdominal  CT with oral contrast can help with those diagnoses but without that no. Even then milder conditions may need an endoscopy to evaluate better and they can even dilate the stricture if one is present at the same time.

Yes: Yes it can but the slices of he scan need be small enough to determine the presence of a small herniation.  Ultrasound is probably a faster and cheaper method to evaluate for the hernia.

No : A single CT scan would not be enough to cause cancer through radiation and enough radiation can produce cancer changes regardless of diet.

pain directly adjacent to navel on right side. it is a sharp pain and hurts when i press. no discoloration or lump there. abdominal ct scan with contrast is normal. blood work normal. has not gone away in weeks. what could it be?

: Local inflammation. Try some hot compresses to the area and Aleeve or Ibuprofen. Good Luck
