Foot drop usually refers to the inability to dorsiflex the foot (ie lift your ankle up) this can be associated with a variety of conditions. The most common are dorsiflexor injuries, peripheral nerve injuries, and stroke. Less common causes are neuropathies, drug toxicities, or diabetes.
