Nerve issue: Can be caused by many things including; diabetes , a nerve compression injury or a pinched nerve i your back. See a neurologist.

Lots of reasons: Weakness or stiffness from post polio, spinal cord injury, spinal bifida, multiple sclerosis, anterior leg compartment muscle atrophy, guillen barre, or peroneal nerve trauma, etc. Hope this helps.

Nerve damage: It is usually due to nerve damage....most commonly from a stroke or injury to the lower back. Nerves are what make your muscles work.

Drop foot is caused by the malfunction of the anterior group muscles in the lower leg.: Hello, Drop foot is caused by the malfunction of the anterior group muscles in the lower leg. This can be due to but not limited to damage/weakness to the Common Fibular nerve and its branches, damage to the Sciatic nerve (higher up along the nerve chain). There can also be metabolic and genetic causes to it. One notes a characteristic gait pattern with this disorder.
