If im prescribed doxycycline as post exposure prophylaxis for syphilis soon after exposure, will this prevent a chancre from ever forming? and if the pep prevents a chancre and stops the disease from taking hold i am never infectious, right?

Doxycycline is not the antibiotic of choice for post exp. prophylaxis usually. If an effective antibiotic is given post exposure than you are OK as far as that one exposure is concerned
