Infection: Swelling, redness, and pain are all signs of inflammation and possibly infection. They could be symptoms of an std, and you might consider making a doctor's appointment to have some testing done.

Balanitis: Swollen & tender glans penis is most commonly due to tight foreskin (phimosis) + some irritating smegma (like dandruff of penis) which needs to be cleaned regularly. Foreskins should always be easy & painless to retract in adults. Std must be considered if your foreskin was loose before this started & had unprotected sex in recent past. If so is best to have it checked out. May need circcumcision.
