A member asked:

I have been bleeding heavily after sex. i got a pap smear and full exam and everything came back clean as far as infections, hpv, etc. what else could cause this? sex is not painful when this happens either. it is also fresh, bright red blood?

Bleeding is a sign of tissue injury. The vaginal wall of a post adolescent female is estrogenized/toughened enough to handle intercourse. If you are bleeding, there is some form of tissue tearing, so you should have an evaluation to see where the blood is coming from.

Witout a pelvic exam it is noy possible to diagnose the cause. Pl see a Gyn soon. Good luck.
