Bright red blood originates from at or near the outlet where digestive enzymes have not turned it dark/black. Exams can confirm a fissure. The often take time to heal when stools remain bulky or hard. The blood loss is seldom enough to create a long-term problem. Make soft stools & this should heal in time.

Those tests you mentioned are not specific for ruling out IBD.

I've been having red spots in stool. Doc. used anoscope, no anal fissures etc found. Could it still be caused by passing hard stool? No pain, FOBT ok.
