For irritated skin on penis (from rubbing alcohol), should i use hydrocortisone cream or ointment? does it make a difference? the skin is now irritated and sensitive and turns red when touched?

Hydrocortisone cream is likely to sting/be painful at this stage, although it may be needed. Would recommend starting with an ointment such as Aquaphor. If it doesn’t improve or is worsening, please have it seen, either in person by your doctor or with a telemedicine visit. It is more likely to be treated properly once it is examined.

NEVER ever use alcohol or any product which has it on any part of the genitalia. It is a great irritant. Use cortisone or hydrocortisone cream till it heals- about a week
