I just had my first screening mammogram since i turned 40. i have to go back for an ultrasound and unilateral mammogram for dense breasts and asymmetry in my right breast. what are the chances this is cancer, no palpable lumps detected?

It is not feasible to give you odds. The chance of cancer is low. You should follow your doctor's advise for continuing care.

US would help: Dense lump fibrocystic breast are common and do not indicate disease. Would consider US of any palpable nodules and first mammogram at 40.

Need to : Re-evaluate. Call your doctor and discuss your concern. Always early intervention , better prognosis . Does not hurt to get it checked out again.
