Yes, the newer recommendations are that someone like you who is healthy, has not been sexually active and knows she is not pregnant...may start taking 21 oral contraceptive pills immediately today. You may also continue taking another 21 to 42 to 63 "active" pills for 2 to 3 months... if you want to remain in control of your vaginal bleeding.

You may certainly start now but since it is uncertain exactly where you are in your cycle it could be too late to cause you to skip your period. If you start bleeding once you start the pill you should continue taking it, not stop and restart.
