Although HPV usually is sexually transmitted, some genital HPV infections are unexplained; or may occur from sexual activity short of intercourse. You're probably at lower risk than most persons, but not zero risk. You should follow guidelines for prevention, such as regular pap smears according to standard advice in Singapore.

Cancers of the cervix and vagina can happen without being sexually involved. HPV virus is very rare without sex but holding hands with someone who is infected can for a long time can result in skin to skin contact resulting in a HPV infection.
