Contact with the virus, whether through actual sexual intercourse, or "foreplay" with vaginal insertion of fingers with viral presence, c transmission of the virus can be with one of multiple sub-types, including "high risk" sub-types.

Oral sex can transmit HSV 2 as can rubbing of the genitals together without penile penetration into the vagina. Get HPV vaccine.
