When the IgG test for HSV-2 is positive it will remain positive for life so I do not think the quantity test (test for the level, usually expressed by 1/32, 1/64, 1/320, etc., dilution) is necessary.

Once infected with Herpes virus the virus remains in the body for the rest of the person's life. Antibody titers may vary, but usually stay positive.
