Good question. There are a few scientific reports that HPV types 16 and 18 may increase lung cancer risk. However, HPV lung infection probably is rare, and certainly is not the main cause of lung cancer. The main way to prevent lung cancer is to not be a smoker -- then don't worry about it.

HPV is a cause of upper airway cancer, vulvar, cervical, anal cancer, though it is not a meaningful factor in lung cancer. Get HPV vaccine.
