Dr. Jay Park answered

Varicocele is a congenital condition which usually becomes noticeable after age 10. Subfertility is expected in approximately 2.3% of affected males, who have grade 3 varicocele. This is a surgically correctable condition, and early surgical correction allows affected testicle to catch up growth and maximizes chance for fertility.
