A member asked:

Is transient lingual papilitis or erupting lingual papilitis a condition of hpv infection? these white bumps ive are strange. would oral hpv have anything to do with it? they dont resemble warts?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There is no test that will diagnose HPV infection of the mouth. Wart like lesions can rarely be present. If you're concerned about any lesions in your mouth, consult an oral surgeon for evaluation and advice. Lingual papillitis is not considered to be due to HPV.
