HPV is an extremely common and essentially ubiquitous family of viruses. Almost every sexually actively individual will be exposed to HPV at some point. HPV is cleared by the immune system in the majority of cases but in some cases can cause genital warts in men, and genital warts and cervical changes in women. There is no text for men for HPV. Women receive regular Pap smears to check for HPV.
