The high risk strains of HPV rarely cause significant issues in straight men. The problem generally is you can acquire it if exposed to a woman infected by these strains during her first 2 yrs (after which it is less contagious). Men are at some risk of throat cancer from oral sex & very rarely a penile cancer, but the main issue is you rarely if ever know you caught it, but can spread it.
