HSV infection: Herpes simplex virus infection is confirmed based on examination (small pustules or ulcers will be present) and culture. If you want to be sure, you can test for antibodies which are proteins produced specifically by your immune system against certain infections. Either way, Valtrex use is known to reduce transmission of HSV to others when used prophylactically.
