Possibilities: Itching in that area is a non-specific finding. The source can range from bacterial & yeast or fungal infection to food allergy. It can also occur after a big or lumpy stool creates a scratch inside the outlet. Itching is a sign of healing. Gentile cleansing & a mild steroid cream often stops the symptoms
