Exam!: You should be examined at a medical clinic as soon as possible. Most causes of rectal bleeding are not serious but colorectal cancer is possible. Other possible causes include hemorrhoids (most common cause), anal fissure, ulcers, polyps, inflammatory bowel disease, anal abscess or fistula & diverticulosis/diverticulitis.

Proctologist: I agree with Dr. M''s good advice, but with your age and lack of other symptoms, I recommend consulting a proctologist for what seems to be a benign disorder of hemorrhoids or anal fissure. In my experience most physicians don't do a good job with these disorders and don't provide adequate follow-up compared to a proctologist. Dr. M's dietary advice is great. Insert glycerin suppositories for BM.
