A member asked:

Hello... so... umm... the thing is that now i turned 18 y/o and i currently have discovered that i have a case of ..phimosis"... so.. the question that really presses me is if i really need a surgical intervention cause i'm really scared...

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stretching can work: Phimosis is when a part of the foreskin is too tight, making the foreskin unable to easily slip back and forth over the glans (head of the penis). So, with phimosis, the appearance of an erect penis will still have the foreskin covering the glans, which is incorrect. The foreskin should slip behind the glans. A primary care doctor or a urologist can advise on using cortisone creams and stretching.
