A member asked:

The frenulum on my penis tore off almost 2 years ago. i never went for surgery(too squeamish). are there any long term implications of leaving the torn frenulum as is? does the penis require a frenulum? can i leave it as it is?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not required, but...: The frenulum at one's upper lip, and the frenulum at one's penis, are not required for life. A person should be able to live a normal life even if those frenula are damaged. His primary care doctor can examine and make recommendations, as it is hard to describe in words the actual appearance.
