Hi my son 7 year old is having trouble at school ,the teacher recommended that we see a psychologist to asses my boy ,it doesn't feel right to me to take a seven old to the doctor. it was mentioned in the letter that he losses focus in class.

Happens often: Psychologists are trained on how to test a kid for learning or behavioral disabilities. They can help identify kids with either learning disabilities or attention/focus disorders. These are usually identified in the first school years so 7 would be the proper time to look. Early identification leads to proper treatments or teaching modification. Delay leads to frustration and school refusal.
