A member asked:

Pain in urethra and tip of penis for a week now. neg. gonorrhea, neg chlamydia, neg uti, no sores or lesions. no discharge. fungal infection in anus 4wks ago. not sure if fungal infection or what it could be.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: Once STDs and UTI have been ruled out, most common cause of your symptom(s) is a non-bacterial irritation/inflammation of the prostate, commonly referred to as “non-specific prostatitis”. Though fungal infections of head of penis in uncircumcised men are not uncommon, fungal Infections within the urinary tract rare in a healthy male. Avoid spicy foods and alcohol and see a urologist if persists.
