PCOS: Combination oral contraceptives are a better choice for cycle regulation than the Progesterone only mini pill for patients with PCOS. This regulates periods but is not a permanent fix. PCOS patients would continue to have irregular periods when not taking the pill. It is a temporary fix. Weight loss can help some PCOS patients normalize the hormonal imbalance causing menstrual irregularities
