Post Surgery issues: I am sure that in your discharge paperwork are instructions about what to expect and what to do if something unexpected is happening. Surgeons use post op issues to watch for complications. But, surgery leads to inflammation in order to heal. But, given you have pain you must call the surgeon on call.

May be normal: Some swelling is normal after surgery. You may want to use ice and Ibuprofen to decrease pain and swelling. If symptoms worsen, you should see your doctor.
