Cold sore unrelated: I don't think that cold sore outbreak was directly related to the use of vaseline. Petroleum jelly (vaseline) actually is known to promote healing of damaged skin, since it helps 'seal in' the sensitive skin cells under the damaged area...then they can regenerate. Cold sores usually come out at times of stress- exams, break-ups etc, so I think this was unrelated. Best to keep stress to a minimum.
