Vasectomy: Family Practice Doctors are trained and are quite proficient in this procedure. It is done in the office under local and sometimes IV sedation. I have even done them in the operating room while the general surgeon is doing another procedure. Urologists do them of course as part of their practice as well.

Urologists: Are specialists who perform vasectomy surgery. Can be done in the office or surgicenter under local anesthetic, or under general anesthesia in an operating room. An office vasectomy is usually the cheapest way to go without sacrificing quality of care. Good Luck
