Fermentation: The longer stool stays in the large intestine, the more time bacteria have to make products of fermentation (methane, sulfur compounds, carbon dioxide.) Encourage your toddler to eat more fiber.. Fresh fruit are good sources that toddlers generally like. Also probiotics like active culture yogurt and Activia may help. Consult your pediatrician about other treatment for constipation.
