Is norethindrone acetate a form of birth control? i'm not very intelligent on medical terms so please as simple an answer as possible. (yes or no)

It depends: If prescribed alone then it is not birth control. When given alone it is usually to stop heavy bleeding or to thin the endometrial lining. When it is listed as one of the components in a combined oral contraceptive pill then it is a form of birth control.
