Sure, may not work: Once you have started your regular period, it is difficult to stop it. Hormones such as norethindrone are used to alleviate heavy irregular bleeding, but in higher doses. This too, may not always work, or it may take some time to work.

You can insert the annovera ring and then stop the pills the next day. However, best to discuss with your doctor that you are doing this.

Irregular: Bleeding is not uncommon for the first 3 months. You are unlikely pregnant but if concerned get a pregnancy test.
