I'm having what appears to be a very mild herpes outbreak on my outer nasal septum (thing between my nostrils). it's been several weeks and has not gone away. is this my herpes or something else?

Could be- see a doc: As a doc can do a culture and blood work if necessary and get you on Valtrex (valacyclovir) if the doc thinks it is herpes or other meds if it is not.

See an ENT: Herpes outbreaks can occur anywhere there is a skin or mucosa, including the nasal septum. The symptoms are usually the same anywhere: initial pain without a visible lesion, followed by a blister, which then breaks, scabs over, then resolves. If this has not improved after 2 weeks, you should see an ent. If you are in my area, you can call my office in beverly hills: 310-777-7879.
