Condom: There are a variety of options for females, but the only one i know that works for males and does not involve surgery is the condom. The condom has the added benefit of greatly reducing the risk of sexually transmitted diseases.

Condoms: Male hormonal birth control pills/shots/implants are still a long ways away. Clinical trials are happening at UCLA (Harbor) and University of Washington (Seattle) and they are promising. For the time being, men can use male/female condoms, get a vasectomy, withdraw, be aware of their partner's fertile times, and abstain. Condoms probably the best option if used correctly.
