Abstinence!: Abstinence, not having sex, is the only form of birth control that is 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. Other forms of birth control that might be considered are condom use along side the pill. Birth control pills have also been shown to help treat certain forms of acne. Regardless of your choice, please see your pcp to answer any of your concerns or questions. Dp--any effectively used.

The one u will use: The best control is the one you will use. Different people will make different choices. There are lots of options. I prefer options where teens don't have to remember something daily. Mirena (levonorgestrel) or paragard iuds are great. Implanon is a small insert that goes in your arm that can last up to 3 yrs. The depoprovera shot is once every 3 months. The pill, patch and NuvaRing are other options.

IUD/Implant: Regardless of your age, blood pressure, family history, or reactions to other birth control, the most effective and safest methods of birth control are long-acting progestin-only methods, such as the implant or the hormonal IUD, which decrease rates of endometrial cancer and decrease bleeding. They're safe, reversible, and don't affect weight gain/mood. They're almost as good as getting sterilized
