Phimosis: Topical steroids are probably harmless in the treatment of phimosis but these agents have very little usefulness in this condition.

See below: Betamethasone cream has be used very effectively for treatment of phimosis in children and adults. It is safe, easy to apply and cost effective. In most published protocols, it is used twice daily for up to 4 weeks and will improve or cure in >70%. The risks are minimal but prolonged use can cause thinning of the skin, and use of the cream extensively over the body can inhibit adrenal steroids.
