Can a very small varicoele cause discomfort when standing for long periods of time? i was told only big ones do, but i always get that heavy feeling on one testicle if i stand for a few hours. i have a grade one varicocele. does this make sense/ normal?

Unusual & unlikely: Small varicoceles are not usually associated with discomfort. However there are always exceptions to almost any rule. Treatment would depend upon how much this bothers you. Alternative is live with it & accept discomfort or sit down if this is possible.

Here are some ...: Known to us, some 15% of men have some degree of varicocele with 90% of times on left side and 10% on both sides. And its degree (size) is not proportional to its related symptoms. In general, the smaller it's, the less its related Sx is - but not always with many symptom-free men despite having huge varicocele. How to address its significance, seek pro-evaluation and counseling timely.
