A female asked:

Clear anal mucus discharge 2x a week, with or without a bowel movement . no pain. had a normal colonoscopy 2 years ago. any suggestions?

Many causes: This is generally due to normal mucous production which is abnormally expressed (poor sphincter tone, anal blockage) vs abnormal mucous production due to infection or inflammation. Intermittent nature (2X a week) is reassuring. Presume no blood. Would probably at least do flexible sigmoidoscopy even though colonoscopy only 2 years ago. See your provider when able.
