I was recently diagnosed with genital herpes. i have a painful large pump under my labia. it started to pus bad though. outbreak or something else?

Abscess: This sounds more like an abscessed gland. There are numerous glands in the labial area, and they can get blocked and infected. If you have fever, swelling in the area around the abscess, chills, and the abscess is enlarging, please seek medical attention right away.

Genital Herpes: In general, genital herpes can cause ulcers and vesicles and pain but does not usually cause large masses that drain pus. This would be more consistent with an infected lymph node or another bacterial infection (like staph) or an STD. Would have it checked by your gynecologist

Unlikely: If it does not blister first each time and No sexual genital contact, unlikely to be herpes. If a bump only, is more likely a follicular cyst.
