Medication: Medication will help decrease the number of days in an outbreak but not eliminate it. The sooner the prescribed medication is taken in relation to the outbreak the shorter the duration of outbreak in most cases. Complete elimination of viral shedding however make take longer.

See a dermatologist: Pills for herpes are effective, but only if used immediatly. Is this a first attack or recurrence? Face or genital or elsewhere? How extensive? Sounds like genital. None of the creams will make any difference. L-lysine is useless. Tea tree oil is a waste of money. Valacyclovir (acyclovir is less effective but cheaper) is of benefit if this is the first attack. For recurrent attacks it should be ta.
