A member asked:

Do hemorroid cause anal fisura? i have a hemorroid internal, anal itch, and now i have opening spot in anus, burns when i wash , no bleed but is open

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Hemorrhoids are enlarged veins at the anal opening. A fissure is a tear in the lining of the skin of the anal canal. A hemorrhoid does not cause a fissure, but straining to have hard constipated bowel movements can cause both hemorrhoids or fissure. You cannot tell yourself on self-examination what you may have, and it needs a physical examination with a physician to tell.
