How can alpha and beta blockers effect a mans erection?

Alpha good beta bad: Alpha blockers may relax blood vessel smooth muscle to allow better blood flow to the penis. A few clinical trials support this hypothesis. Beta blockers don't allow as much blood flow in and therefore can impede erections. In general though, high blood pressure is the big enemy of erections and the meds are necessary to keep any blood going to the penis.
