Don't do it: Alpha blockade is the important component of treatment because it counters the high levels of adrenaline that are associated with pheochromocytoma.

Pheochromocytoma: 27 M asks Why is important to take first alpha blockers and then beta blockers to control a pheochromocytoma? What can happen if i take them the opposite way? ANS: if you give BB first you then get unapposed alpha effect as betas are blocked. This can lead to deadly HTN. So block B first. I specialize in this and happy to do 2nd opinion to help you and your team figure out what is going on.
