A member asked:

Is urethritis an std? what bacteria or virus would that be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: The term refers to inflammation of the urethra, which is the tube which runs from the bladder and carries urine out. This can be due to stds, but there are many non-sexually associated conditions in which urethritis may occur. When it is std, usually gonorrhea or non-gonococcal urethritis (variety of bugs).
