Where is 2nd part?: An appropriate syphilis test involves two stages: the RPR is done first- if positive, a confirmatory test such as an ' fta-abs' must be done. The 2-stage test is more cost effective and decreases the number of 'false positive' results. Due to a number of circumstances, the RPR test could be a false positive test. Absolutely: If whoever tested you is on top of things, you've already been advised to have a more specific test.
