depends: Some medications must be taken with food due to their effect on the stomach. Some medications are better absorbed when taken with medications. Diabetic medications may cause a drastic reduction in your blood sugar if you do not eat. As you can see there are many possibilities. Check with your physician before you do anything.. Good luck.
