Is it okay to take medication for a headache while fasting for blood tests?

Yes: Few blood tests require fasting. Those that do would not be affected by the use of tylenol (acetaminophen) or NSAID type pain relievers such as ibuprofen.

Generally yes: Taking Aspirin would affect platelet function and if you were having a test for bleeding disorders, you should avoid pain medication other than tylenol (acetaminophen).
