Depends: How we can help depends on what he wants. If he wants medication, see a doctor. If he wants to improve diabetes by diet, see this nutritionist: www.zizania.biz She specializes in type II diabetes, and gets good results.

Needs medication: Hi. Your husband needs medication. Having a brand new diagnosis is daunting. He (and great if you join him) needs diabetes education and nutrition counseling. Many wonderful new meds are available, assuming he's type 2. If his doctor's not familiar with contemporary management of diabetes, get a referral to someone who is. Regular exercise. Manage blood pressure and lipids. Don't smoke. Good luck!
